Hi there! My name is Melissa and I’m the mother behind One Mother to Another.

I’m a stay at home mom to my toddler, Chase, and my slightly newer guy, Sam. They’re 17 months apart and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I met my husband, Adam, in gym class when I was 15 and we’ve been together ever since. You’ll never catch me bashing him anywhere on the Internet; he’s an exceptionally awesome husband and father and I’m lucky as hell that he’s stuck with me all these years.

I love to parallel park. I wear mascara every single day without exception and sport Chuck Taylors almost as often. Approximately 98% of the time, there is a used diaper somewhere in or on my bed. I’ve killed every single houseplant I’ve ever owned. I abuse exclamation points and use the word, “Awesome” a lot. My favorite film genre is inspirational sports movies. Heist and/or revenge movies are a close second. I “iced” my husband on our wedding day by hiding a Smirnoff Ice in my garter.

I still tie my shoes using the bunny ear method. I love to cook and I’m constantly experimenting in the kitchen. A lot of times, the outcome is good. Sometimes it’s not. (On a totally unrelated note, butternut squash and sausage soup kind of sucks.) I try not to stress about little things, which means my kids are usually playing with something potentially dangerous or eating 2-day old food off the floor. After many years of self-loathing, I actually really love the person I’ve become, even if she’s much different than the type of woman I expected to be.
