Gender Reveal: Baby #2

Everyone who knows me well knows I am as impatient as the day is long, so there was no question of whether or not we’d find out what we were having the second time around.

With Chase, I absolutely knew he was a boy. This time around I felt strongly that it was a girl, based on the way I’ve been carrying and my own intuition…

So imagine my shock when we found out that…

boy!

While I would’ve loved to shop for tinyΒ tutus and have a little girl who wanted to borrow Mommy’s lipstick and try on her dresses, I am secretly relieved it’s another boy. Boys just make sense to me in a way girls don’t and I’ve always had the idea in my head that I would be a mom of all boys.

Bring on the dirt, noise and chaos! I can’t wait to welcome another little boy into our family and watch he and Chase grow up side by side.

If you’re currently pregnant, what are you having? Did you do a big gender reveal with family and friends or find out at the ultrasound? If you waited, were you glad you did?Β

Congratulations! Boys just make sense to me, too, as much as I also would have loved to buy all things pink and frilly, I can’t imagine not having my two boys! We found out as soon as we could, because with as many ultrasounds as we had, it would probably have been difficult not to accidentally reveal it, anyway. I’m also pretty damn impatient πŸ˜‰

Ha I hear ya lady. Not that I’m not girly, per se, but I’m not big into pink/purple/frilly, etc. so I’m just as happy to buy little collared shirts, overalls and Converse sneakers πŸ™‚ Impatience is a virtue, right? Oh wait…

Aww Congratulations! As a mom of two girls, they are all drama lol! so two boys is awesome! Don’t tell my girls I said they were all drama, let’s keep that our little secret πŸ˜‰

Ha! Too funny. I would’ve been totally happy either way, but two teenage boys sounds a little more appealing to me than teenage girls! πŸ˜‰ Your secret’s safe with me!

lol yes! My third the only boy has been so different! I was amazed at how much easier he is!

I waited until my son was born to find out the gender and am doing the same with baby 2, due in April. I’m not one for surprises, so waiting is very hard for me. However, I didn’t want to start getting too caught up in gender stuff, and just focus on having healthy kids. I do have a feeling this one is a girl, though it’s not as strong as my feeling that my first would be a boy.

That’s awesome that you’re waiting. I’ve always wished (and prayed!) for more patience, but it’s just not in me to wait that long. The idea of getting to find out as a reward for all that hard work in the delivery room seems so awesome to me. I’ll be checking in on your blog to see what you end up having!!

Does this mean your husband gets naming rights? πŸ˜‰ congrats! So happy for your family!

Congratulations! I am so excited for you! Have you decided the name for your new little bundle of joy? πŸ™‚

    • One Mother to Another March 9, 2015 at 12:21 pm #

Thanks so much Trisha! Ha…not even close. My husband is very difficult to pick names with…he’s always thinking of every conceivable nickname kids could shorten it to, things it rhymes with, etc. etc. Chase was literally the ONLY boy name we could agree on the first time, so it’ll probably be a process!!

Welcome to the “living with more than one little boy” club. We smell, since we only get to shower at midnight and sometimes you choose sleep over being clean. Our cars and beds are filled with trains and play tools. And we live every single second with enough humor to make it past whatever they are currently wrecking. But, we will be the first to hug you or lend a hand without being prompted. We are a tight group, but will accept you with open arms and a laugh.

    • One Mother to Another March 9, 2015 at 7:20 pm #

Aww thank you so much for the welcome to the club. I’m proud to be joining your ranks πŸ™‚

Congrats! I had two boys and then two girls- one protector for each! Just remember to take out stock in bandaids, helmets, padding, duct tape and the Nerf company early on… it will pay off!

Ha!! That’s great advice. I’m already preparing to clean lots of pee off the floor and break up living room wrestling matches πŸ˜‰ I love boys though!!

Another word to the wise: shoes will break windows when thrown. And after age 7, don’t break up fights, they’ll go right back to it the minute your back is turned. Better to let that testosterone wear it’s self out. LOL. You got a long way to go before you’re where I’m at.

Congratulations!! I loved this post with the usage of black and white images, and then BOOM to the blue. (And, you had me convinced you were having a girl just by reading this, then I saw the blue.)

    • One Mother to Another March 10, 2015 at 8:43 am #

Haha I guess I fooled one person other than myself on this one!! πŸ˜‰ I was so shocked when they said “boy!” Glad you liked the reveal!
